Portland OR Jazz Steel Wednesday June 8

My group, Christopher Woitach Steel Quartet, will be playing Jo Bar and Rotisserie in Portland on Wednesday June 8, from 7:00 pm to 9:45 pm.

Pedal steel, trombone, fretless bass, and drums - mainly straight ahead jazz with some fun twists - it’s a great venue, and the musicians playing with me are A list Portland jazz players. In my opinion, a terrific band.

You don’t need reservations, but if you want to be close to the band it’s not a bad idea. The sound is good everywhere in the club, so if you don’t care about the visuals, you’ll still get to hear everything.

If you come, make sure to come up and say hi - I tend to get wrapped up in concentrating on the music, don’t wear my glasses, and go outside on the breaks, so I don’t always notice who’s there! (I’ve had some embarrassing moments of people I know feeling ignored… ).

I love this gig, play there roughly once a month.
